Hi All............
I was wondering, what sort of software you all might use for your charts and
interpretations.........personally, I have a Palm Zire-72 and use
Astro-Pocket to draw and store charts, but have nothing for
interpretations.........anybody know of something about interpretations for
Palm PDA's? I find it handy to have all my family and friends charts with
me at all times.......
Tks for any ideas.

I use the following (all are free):
Astrolog32
ZET Lite 8
Canopus 2.1

I also sometimes use Astrodienst's free online charting service at

You're welcome, good luck in your search. :-)

Oh, cool. I should check it out.

I use the free Astrolog 5.40 more than anything else, period.
I also use the non-free Kepler 5 (an old version), JigSaw 2.0, and
AstroDatabank 2.0 (an old version). I like all of them and will
definitely be getting the new versions eventually, when I can
afford it... :-)
ADB allows you to open charts in Astrology for Windows, so I use
that too. It's not free either, but, I like how Astrology for
Windows has a very nice, clean, easy to use interface.
I also use some nice atlas software, which is probably not free,
that came with my purchase of Kepler, JigSaw 2.0, or ADB - the
ACS PC Atlas for Windows 2.1.
It's possible to use the free web-search Earth to look up longtitudes

You can also do this on the Astrodienst site with the added benefit
that they give you the timezone info as well.

Oh, and when curious about what the sky actually looked like
at a particular date, time and location, I use the free
Celestia - which isn't astrology software, but rather, astronomy
software. It's wonderful:

I just d/l that. Isn't that a cool program? I think it's really neat.

I made a page of notes on Celestia which might be handy:

Like Todd, I also use Astrodienst's very useful free services
from time to time.
I'm not sure I've ever tried Astrolog32. I've tried Canopus and ZET
Lite but haven't really used them very much.
ZET, in particular, looks especially cool, and absolutely packed with
features, but I remember I found it rather complicated. I ought to
download it again and give it another try. (I had it on my broken
down computer but don't have it on my new one).
This website has a lot of excellent free astrological tools:
Lastly, I also use my own free AstroTally program, written in
JavaScript.
I'm still working on that. Or, at least, still planning on
working on that... technically I haven't really done anything new
to it yet. :-)
It's open source and released under the GNU General Public License
so other people can edit it too.

Welcome to aamod, Chuck!
Like you, I use Astro-Pocket on my Palm Pilot, but haven't found
anything for th Palm that does interpretations. I suspect it may be a
size issue. Very generally speaking, most Palm devices have very
limited resources available to the programmer. Perhaps no one has
managed yet to fit all the interpretations into Palm program yet?
At any rate, I hope you enjoy aamod. Please feel free to post any
questions, comments, observations, etc...you may have on astrology.
Again...welcome to the list. :)
