Not that there was much doubt, but it has become more and more obvious to
me that the "meaning" of the Zodiacal Signs show the stamp of logical Greek
organization. I've extracted some of the nifty terms found in the
descriptive paragraph below, and projected them onto the Zodiac.
From:
[..]2. Scientific Reasoning
Scientific reasoning characterizes a systematic pattern of thought involving
four stages or steps, namely: puzzlement, speculation, adaptation, and
explanation.4 Something occurs that does not fit comfortably into our
background knowledge and expectations and thus becomes a source of
puzzlement. Alternative theories that might possibly explain that
occurrence are advanced for consideration. The available relevant evidence
is brought to bear upon those hypotheses and their measures of evidential
support are ascertained, where additional evidence may be obtained on the
basis of observation, measurement, and experiment. The weight of the
evidence is assessed, where the hypothesis with the strongest support is the
preferable hypothesis. When sufficient evidence becomes available, the
preferable hypothesis also becomes acceptable in the tentative and fallible
fashion of science.5[..]" -- Fetzer

I wonder if we could use the signs in this "logical" manner if we had
learned the meaning of the signs from a Chaldean instead of a Greek...:)

Chaldean's, Greek's, like us, are users of a system they didn't design.
-- Someone, somewhere, for some reason had some realization s/he later
revealed as the circle we use today.
Its unlikely that the design sprang from a flat/two dimensional
experience; more likely that the presentation was chosen because they
could draw the circle with a stick.
Celtic designers have represented the Zodiac as knots; The famous
gordian knot comes to mind. In the orient the six axes of the Zodiac
(with time/sequence thrown in!) became the I-Ching.
Thus, if I may be so rude, the deeper question is 'what does the
zodiac' represent.
Unless you're immovably clear about that, it doesn't matter which
version of the software you're using! Each age rewrites the code to
its needs and if you find the greek way of representing processes
through people stories difficult, pick any other approach.
In my time with the question I've settled on:
The Zodiac is " the blueprint of the *timeless* core of nature as
presented in 2D "
With that concept in hand you can tie everyone's writings to the
quaternity of forces inside the atom and with that done, a little
algebra will teach you more about the wisdom of the Greeks and
Chaldeans than any talk about signs.
What's a sign anyway? Its the idea of signifying something made
solid and frozen in time, yes? A STOP sign signifies the process of
stopping. A wise driver in the wrong neighborhood will ignore it
without personalizing the indicated operation.
In your examples you prescribe specific words for these processes. I'm
sure they make sense to you -- and I can respect your choices of words
