Martin Luther King:
"[..] With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair
a stone of hope. [..]"
King's Jup-Sat-Nep grand trine has but one original seeming expression
(above) in the whole of his "I have a Dream" speech. Well, two key
expressions if you count the title--he has Jupiter in Taurus, and this is
the best collective symbol for the idea of Taurus as "possessions" + Jupiter
as a contained volume--"cup," or cornucopia, whatever.
Neptune is the collective idea of "a dream"--the trine Jupiter/Neptune is
by far the closest aspect of the chart -- 0*16' of separation. I believe in
the notion of closest aspects, it comes up all the time in my experience.
As well, the idea of least aspected planet not being able to project/express
in explicit fashion is thus most likely to find *implicit* expression in the
, but feel free skip all the predictive mapping nonsense....:)
Ken will like this one because his planets are expressing their Sign
positions, but that is the nature of rhetoric in public speeches...it is
meant to ring the most common notes available.
Mars Gemini opposite Saturn in Sagittarius: here some may point to the
non-violent idea,
but if you want to see it the way King sees it, from the psyche out, then
see it as the force of his only natal opposition, an aspect very much
responsible for compare and contrast exposition. Mars' key function here is
the role of sword turned ploughshare (Isaiah 2 "They shall pound their
swords into plowshares, their spears into pruning hooks") .
"[..] With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair
a stone of hope. [..]"
Here is the conundrum for today. Is "faith" Jupiter or Neptune...:)?
Mars "hews" the "stone" (Saturn) from the mountain (Sagittarius) despair
(Saturn). so Mars is not "faith", Saturn is not "faith".
Neptune is in Virgo, and, frankly "faith" is not what makes that feature of
the psyche tick...:)
Jupiter as the "pot of gold at the end of the rainbow" is probably more like
the ability to *have* faith....or is the "hope"????? So there you are,
however it goes...:)

That trine must be faith made manifest :-) Jupiter's optimism is
something like hope...
"Perhaps a new spirit is rising among us. If it is, let us trace its
movements and pray that our own inner being may be sensitive to its
guidance, for we are deeply in need of a new way beyond the darkness
that seems so close around us." - Martin Luther King
