Rave for Nordstrom service

Alice...
I posted last week about how disappointed I was that a red Marc Jacobs
bag I had been eyeing for almost a year finally went on sale but I
missed my opportunity to get it.

I just have to rave about Kelley at Nordstrom at the Stoneridge Mall
in Pleasanton, CA who apparently kept making phone calls to other
stores trying to track the bag down for me, not giving up after even a
few days with no results. She found one in Sacramento, transfered it
to her store, and held it for me.

I have no idea how she managed to find it because even though it was
the Blake bag in Ferrari red I had wanted, the tag on it had been
misplaced and someone attached a "quilted goat" style tag on it. Very
weird. I had also tried to check the Nordstrom inventory whenever I
had a chance to ask someone, and no leads were turning up - the
results kept saying 0 0 0. It seems fairly miraculous that she found
this bag and I think I have to believe now that Santa comes in many
forms. :)

I feel so grateful that Kelley kept trying like that, especially
during this time of the year when the handbag salespeople are all so
busy with many other customers. I usually get good service at
Nordstrom (whereas one of the handbag ladies at Saks in SF usually
gives me a surly look if I dare to ask her a question), but this was
super fantastic.

I am wondering whether it would be appropriate to thank Kelley with a
gift card of some sort, perhaps to Sephora or Starbucks. Are
Nordstroms employees allowed to accept such gifts? I was thinking of
mailing it to her using her full name and the address of the Nordstrom
store, since Stoneridge is a little out of my way. I also think I
will write a letter to the store management commending her for her
excellent service.

Now I have a little problem because I had given up and ordered the
same bag from that somewhat sketchy web retailer I mentioned in my
earlier post, but hopefully I can return that one without a serious
problem.
