and just when I praised them to the high heavens a little while ago!
I had ordered enough cosmetics to qualify for free shipping (min $150)
and placed my order online with a gift card. Everything came minus the
new Chanel e/s palette (#59, Gold Rush~a real beauty)which I knew would
be on b/o and cost $55.
The gift card had enough (and more) to take care of everything.
The first box came, everything was ok.
The Chanel came today and when I checked the included invoice, those
(*#&$_)##$ charged my VISA card for it. They double dipped, I can't
believe it!
Just got off the phone with c/s and the rep assured me they would be
sending me a $55 gift card. I asked, why couldn't they just credit my
VISA card? No, that is not the way we do things here. She said it

Everywhere, charges seem to take two nanoseconds but to back them out
takes two weeks.

That can be speeded up considerably if you call your VISA issuer and
request a chargeback.

order had been cancelled (no one emailed me or called) and that they had
to reorder it resulting in another order. Does this make any sense?
I'm waiting for their email survey to come with this one. I can't
imagine I will be as nice as last time.

You need to talk to a manager on this one. I cannot believe they want
to issue you a gift card for their mistake especially when you did not
cancel the order. Am I correct in understanding you paid twice for the
purchase, once with the gift card and then with the VISA?

I would call VISA. It's amazing what credit card companies can do
that we, as individuals, can't.

You understand correctly, Audrey. I was double charged. It really
irritates me, and I'll take it up tomorrow...just too tired to go back
into it right now.

Best of luck getting this resolved. Situtations like this stop people
from returning to stores.
