Debbie Quan...
What 3 items are must haves for fall 2006? I notice mule shoes/clogs are
making a comeback but I don't think I'm going to get them. Deb

For me, it's platform pumps, opaque patterned tights and a sweater
dress.

Barbara...
I have to look into having my workhorse wool coat relined, but its
likely to cost as much as a new one (Syms always has an excellent
selection at reasonable prices), so that may be a *must* for me.

I could definitely use one or two more winter suits this winter.

A great pair of black pants. My beloved Oscar pants were damaged
beyond repair last winter, and need to be replaced.

A nice large leather hobo bag that I can throw some work and a book
into and avoid using a tote or briefcase most day.

Not much really fashion forward there; sorry.

Looking for a new wool coat should be fun especially if you begin early.
I bought my daughter a large black leather bag at BR in June and it can
hold a paperback and lots of other stuff.

Mules might be a "must have" for me this fall, in black. Tarjay has
some cute ones that I will try on the next time I'm there, then grab
once they go on sale. My other 2 must haves - sweaters or tops in
teal green and wrap dresses a la DVF.

I'm drawing a blank. I bought the Maggy London red dress that was like
a DvF wrap and felt it was too fitted so I returned it. I can't wear
sweaterdresses either. I don't like mules but bought a new pair of Cole
Haan classic tan loafers. My Marc Jacobs bag will be my new fall
handbag.

I also had a BR friends and family certificate but used it for my girls.
I bought one the black trenchcoat and the other a green sweater. Last
year I bought so many classic pieces in green and brown that they'll be
my staples this year.

So warm here up until November or so that I really don't think much
about fall purchases.

jrogow...
Exactly! And by the time I go looking for fall styles, the spring things
are in the shops.

The upside is that anything I find I want is generally on deep discount.
