And they pronounce it "T=E4r-zhAy"? I just found out about this and it's
a little weird. Why would anyone think Target stores are cool?

Well, a bunch of them work there (guys too). They probably use their
discount. Target has done one of the best jobs out there of marketing
their own private clothing line and being able to get over the "I got
my stuff at wal-mart or k-mart" stigma. They still don't have the wow
factor of a bigger name clothing line that is synonymous with being
"cool" or wealthy, but since most kids aren't rich, and their parents
want their kids to be happy, everyone settles for Target, IMHO.

Image counts. Target's latest (two years? more?) ad series are as
upbeat and MTV as Gap or Navy.
Seem to work, too, as the agency is slowly developing a wow factor
peculiar to the brand.

The "Tär-zhAy" pronunciation comes from a false rumor that Target is a
French company.

They are, compared to Vall-Mahrt...

What on earth has this to do with soc.men?

really? you've never seen a man shopping at Target? i'd be more
concerned about what it has to do with rec.arts.poems or
alt.battlestar-galactica, or even alt.music (all three of which
have been deleted from the list).

The last I looked, I was a man (not that that changes without a lot of
work). And I not only do I go to Tär-zhAy I go to Vall-Mahrt!
