How is your summer wardrobe?

I realized it is mid July and even though it will be summer for a long
time where I live, it's time to reassess my closet. I wear my new
clothes a lot. I use the handbag that is the most recently purchased
for summer. I have a lot of clothes I haven't worn. It's time for me
to do a quick run through of my closet and figure out if I will wear
these not yet worn items or if it is time for another thrift store
donation.

How do you handle your closet? Do you wait till the season is over or
reassess mid season?

I've worn most of the new clothes that I bought for Spring/Summer at
least once. I can see what is working well (bermuda shorts and cute
white blouses come to mind) and what is not (a flippy cotton print
skirt). There are clothes in my closet from previous seasons that
haven't been worn yet, but I know I will wear them again. If they
hadn't been working for me last year, I would have already gotten rid
of them. I'm pretty good when it comes to editing my closet.

I actually leave everything the same--meaning I keep my sweaters in the
closet all year long, summer gear, spring gear, whatever-- in the same
place. The reason being that I can always layer my clothing and
refashion it for another season. A flimsy see-thru blouse looks hot
under a blazer in the winter, and I can layer it with multiple scarves
depending on coolness. I also may need one of my sweaters for those
unexpectedly cool evenings (I'm in New York). I also love mixing up
different textures. It just makes the wardrobe more interesting. It's
funny because, even though my wardrobe isn't overflowing, people SWEAR
they have never seen me in the same outfits--which is simply not true!

Well, it's been "summer" here since early April. We got a few
temperature breaks in May, but not many; Summer will also go well
beyond Sept 23. I switched my "summer" stuff over 3 months ago and
have worn nothing even "Spring"-ish in ages. I do what AJ does, though
