Helloooo! Lovelies and magick creatures!
FrankB...
|
I have a degree in accountancy, thus i am a mage in taxe-on-revenues !
|
I would like your advice on what is hot and in style in magick wands
this season.
FrankB...
|
A little late but yeah ..
|
My old polished black wood gryphon's tail of Dorchester has worn a bit
thin. I made too many maids into princesses, I suspect.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, the broom-riding thing is a fertility ritual and the broom is
ridden bristle-end up and pole-end down, representing the impregnation of
the soil by the phallic broomstick. That ain't necessarily play. That's
Celtic pre-Christian ritual.
Brooms are also used for sweeping, of course, but you don't ride a broom
when you sweep with it, if you want good results. Not even if you're doing
magical sweeping.
Now, let's get back to your original question, which is about fashion, not
function, and about wands rather than brooms. From what I've seen,
crystal-tipped wands are very popular these days. Quartz is generally used,
but I think you might find that an amethyst would be very pretty and would
get a lot of compliments. Along that vein, you might want to use rose
quartz, since it has that lovely pink coloring and it's still quartz, the
most popular stone for wands having stones. Combine your crystal with a
modest amount of silver filigree.

Tom, you are sucha sweetie. I've gone through my third wand in a score
and I just tend to use them so much to help people that I need to keep
up with what's in. I have a natural attraction to amethyst, but as you
may know, it's not real magical beyond the standard beauty and
prosperity spells. I did once slay a dragon with an amethyst shard,
but it took a little non-magickal finesse to do so.
Power is not necessarily what I'm after. I have that already. I just
want something that can handle the power I already possess like the
Gryphon did.

For some reason, turquoise doesn't seem to be very fashionable in wands at
all. I'd avoid that, if fashion is your main concern. Amber might be a
good choice. It's unusual but still a widely respected magical stone. You
might also consider a naturally occurring lodestone. You know, a stone that
is a natural magnet. It's very plain, but if it's pleasingly set and you
demonstrate its magnetic propreties, it can be very impressive.
Your more organically-oriented folks still like the good old wooden wand,
perhaps carved attractively and varnished lightly. Sometimes you can get a
wonderful reaction from admirers if your wand has some interesting crooks in
it. However that may make it seem a bit more crone-like and that may not
fit your image as a young and vivacious nature spirit. A nice, straight
rowan wand is always an eye-pleaser.
A lot of folks seem more impressed with a hand-made wand rather than one
which is obviously manufactured. If you have the skill, making your own
wand would probably get more admiration than one you've bought. On the
other hand, if you have no skill with tools, your wand will look sloppy,
which will detract from the overall aesthetic appeal. So, in that case, buy
one that has been hand-made by someone who has good skills.

This is a mistake to think that you *must* tool the wand. You can get a
nice wand beneath a tree that you like. I see plenty wood that could
make nice wands just walking in the city. I like to find ones near water
though, but that's just me.
|
Lastly, as you know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You must please
yourself. Don't use accessories that you personally don't find attractive,
even if they have popular appeal.

Tom has many merits, one of them is being too serviable.

I get my advice from the advertising world

This years hot fashion wands are imported directly from South Africa (of
all places!) and although the secret formula is just that - secret - it
has been said that using a twig from a rubber tree, infusing it with
pomegranete juice and dunking it in the urine of a hoot owl will provide
you with a long lasting and trusty apparatus. This years colors are
mostly fall colors - browns, oranges and rust are topping the charts in
both Europe and the United States!

Oh you have a wonderful sense of humor, kindred one. I will dust the
air with blessings for you and speak to the moon on behalf of your
good health.

polished jackets as well as coats and astronaut suits.
