You can read the entire story if you subscribe to the WSJ newspaper or
on line but here are some of the
results
Barneys...best of the new designers, strict return policy
Bergdorfs...best overall, reinventing itself after an $85 million
renovation, largest selection of the high end designers along with
vintage and antiques but you have to go to New York to go there
NM...widest selection, vast catalogues, one of the best rewards
programs, weakness is selection varies by city so not all stores are the
same
Nordstrom...easiest returns, huge shoe collection, lacks high end
amenities and bathrooms are just average compared to the very good ones
at Barneys and Saks
Saks...friendliest store service at the flagship NY store, relaunching
petites, beginning to appeal to younger customers
The article is about the reinvention of the luxury department store.
Nordstrom is now making dressing rooms big enough to hold five
friends.Barneys is expanding its Co-op stores. NM is going to open 4
Cusp stores appealing to Gen-X.

Here's a link to a story about the Cusp stores. The first is opening
at Tyson's, at the end of the month. I see a AF DC mini get together
in our not too distant future.

Aha! Remember when we were out there for the movie and I said that there
was a sign saying something about some "new hot store" coming soon and
the email address was NM's? Now that whole thing makes sense.
End of July? AFDC Shopping Trip! LOL
Michele, wondering if they'll take MC/Visa :P
