i have a field of them on the back of my legs. i used Veet a
couple weeks ago. a friend of mine says exfoliating the skin
will help the ingrown hairs grow out. i do that every day, and
finally they're starting to grow out a bit.

When I was in college, I developed a couple of worrisome bumps on my
genitals. I went to the University doctor, showed him the bumps and almost
fainted when he looked up at me and grimly said "Folliculitis". I'd never
heard of such a thing and was immediately certain that life as I knew it
was over. He then broke into a grin and explained what it was and told me
to just scrub a little more in the shower.

My dh had folliculitis in his beard. It did get pretty bad though and he did

Some people just happen to be prone to it. I get it under my arms. I
was worried about treating with antibiotics but it cleared it right up.

question: anything i can do to avoid getting them in the first
place? i mean, besides not Veet-ing my legs?

Start exfoliating the day you veet/shave/wax/whatever and use lotion at
least once a day.
