Reapply permanent?

firepower_50ae...
My wife just got a permanent that didn't take. Less than 1 week after
getting it done, it's barely wavey -- not what she paid $100 + for.

Mr. Clean...
$100 for waist-length hair is nothing! i would have charged
more, and i would have made her understand that because of the
length, it would likely not hold much curl. after getting her to
sign a release form, i then would have done the perm.

You have to understand her hair. It is beautiful, full, and almost
waist-length. She hasn't had a perm in 12 years.

Mr. Clean...
^^^^^^^^^^^^
this is the problem right here. the weight of the hair is
pulling out the curls.

cut some of that unnecessary length, and there should be plenty
of curl.

We've been told to go back to the salon for them to "make it right".

Mr. Clean...
so they're going to cut the hair? heh, kidding.

But what should we look for them to do? Do the perm over? Or will
that "fry" her hair (the beautician's term, not mine)?

Mr. Clean...
that's not actually a beautician's term. the correct term is
"overprocess."

Thanks for any help!

Mr. Clean...
no problem.

THE EDITOR...
There are two types of perms:
1. Acid
2.Alkaline
My bet is she's had the latter, and really needs the former, ask the
hairdresser. If I am right, no harm will be done to redo the
procedure.
The salon should know better, the type of perm given should be based n
the type of hair. They must fix up, their mixup.
