After a couple of years of wavering, I finally tried Thermage 2 days
ago. I was scared by some things I read on the web, but after meeting
with the doctor I felt very reassured. (Although I've scheduled and
canceled before).
So anyway, I'm 44 and have little or no fine lines, but I've noticed
some laxness in my face (especially in photos). Thermage seemed
perfect - if it lived up to its promise, which I won't know for a few
months, but I have noticed some immediate tightening.
BIGGEST downside so far - it was VERY painful. I have a low tolerance
for pain anyway and I almost had to ask them to stop it. THey gave me
an xanax and a propacet beforehand but it didn't seem to help. I had
tears streaming down my face. But I was there, I had paid for it
($2200 hefty bucks- I guess that's another downside) so I suffered
through it. My grandmother always told me you had to suffer for
beauty, she had no idea! I don't think I could go through it again
unless I had something stronger for the pain - maybe 8 or 10 shots of
tequila.
In a couple of months I'm going to post some before and after pix on
myspace, if anyone's interested. If you have any questions, you can
email me at fairwayhome@bellsouth.net.

The derm office that I visit has a new procedure going on, and they
tell me they are booked up for months. They will not do Thermage there,
but they are doing this procedure called ReFirme. searched the web for this:
ReFirme is the latest, FDA approved non-invasive procedure which offers
painless solution to wrinkles and sagging skin. ReFirme procedure is a
combination of light and radio frequencies which helps to regain
youthful and plumper skin. The ReFirme procedure has a pulse repetition
rate of one pulse per second, and uses Syneron's elos technology, is
claimed to be the fastest and most effective treatment in the market.
Syneron Medical Ltd., from Israel makes ReFirme, they also make
