AJ...
After lo these many years I have discovered Ann Taylor.

Vconras on the discovery, and on the gorgeous scarf from an admirer.

Some of my favorite items in my closet are old AT purchases, though I
haven't bought anything lately. I"ll have to get in there and check
out the sale rack. there are always great things left in my size
(gigundo)

I'm also a fan of ON jeans - when I can find the longs!

We were out of town this weekend and I dashed in Ann
Taylor, ended up buying a pale beige jacket, herringbone
trousers, gorgeous white soft rayon-linen drapey trousers,
a silk tee shirt and a celadon thin silk long-sleeved shirt,
all on sale--I mean, the total for all of these garments was less
than for one pair of the trousers.

Love them, love them, love them. Can't believe how much
I am loving the white trousers. My wardrobe options were
limited, since we were out of town, but I wore them with
the beige jacket, an EF slightly darker beige tissue linen
sweater, red shoes, and my red bag [waves to David].

I am also loving the so-called skinny jeans from OB. They
look really great. I'd urge any of you who are reluctant,
as was I, to try them to try them (I know that last phrase
sounds like a typo but it's not!).

julianne_x...
What is OB? (The only thing that comes to mind is "Old Banana"!) I've
been viewing the skinnny jeans trend with fear and loathing, so am very
curious about these.

AJ...
Sorry it was a typo, I meant ON for Old Navy. You should try
the jeans. I tried them on a lark and was really surprised, then
wore them when we were out of town and really really liked
them. They're not "skinny" like the radical ones we're seeing
in magazines; they're just narrow, but not tapered. (FWIW
I also bought a new pair of bootcut jeans as well.)

Also someone I don't know, but who admires my
work, sent me out of the blue, the most beautiful pale-
apricot silk scarf--it has a lot of texture in the silk and
beauitful almost tattered edges. He also wrapped it,
or had it wrapped, in pink paper, with pink and green
ribbon [waves to Trilby and TOK).

(Crossing my index fingers to fend of the Ann Taylor enabling,
thankyouverymuch.) Is AT going to replace EF in your heart and chandeliered
closet?

I am totally envious that someone who admires your work would send you a
gift like that. IME, the best I can hope for is that no one finds a huge
error in my work and sends a huge "You suck!" message.

You made me laugh cofarb....I know exactly what you mean.
We all need a bit of AJ's luck.

Enjoy your scarf AJ, it sounds lovely.
