Also, you don't need eyeliner on an airplane flight. I have never
applied makeup on a flight or even at the airport.

Due to heightened security procedures, the TSA has changed the guidelines
regarding carryon luggage.
What Cannot be Carried on the Aircraft:
The TSA is currently prohibiting all liquids and gels in carryon luggage.

Fix yourself up, put your makeup in your checked luggage, and hope
nothing happens until you get to your destination.
In fact, NPR had a soundbite where they had an announcement that used
the term "get pretty."

This includes all beverages, shampoo, lotions, creams, toothpaste, hair gel,
and other items of similar consistency. Additionally, any of these items
purchased beyond the security checkpoint will not be permitted onboard the
aircraft.
Exceptions That Can be Carried on the Aircraft:
Baby formula or breast milk, if a baby or small child is traveling, and
prescription medicine with a name that matches the Customer's name (along

with insulin and essential other non-prescription medicines) can be carried
onboard and are subject to inspection at the checkpoint.
Electronic items (including notebook computers, MP3 players, PDAs, etc.) are
allowed through the security checkpoint, and all carryon items are subject
to additional screening.

Try traveling with a CPAP machine.
They invariably run an ETD check.

I had an early morning flight on Thurs, so I ran into this just when it was
beginning. I was fortunate in that (a) nothing that I stuffed into my
suitcase exploded -- unlike someone's bottle of suntan lotion on the outside
of my suitcase -- and (b) the items that I forgot to transfer to my suitcase
(e.g. Eyedrops) were not caught by screeners.
I'm wary of future travel b/c:
- eyedrops aren't allowed, but sometimes my eyes dry out to the point of
sandpaper-ness.
- some of my Px meds don't have my name on them (e.g. Nosespray), so how am
I supposed to prove that it's mine?
- I carry around a spray can of Evian for makeup application. You're not
supposed to put aerosol cans in the checked in luggage, but it's liquid so
you can't carry it.
In all cases, I'm not clear of what I'm supposed to do to avoid getting my
stuff confiscated.
