Ok- I was watching Smashbox on QVC this morning- I was thinking about
this line- but I've also been interested in BareMinerals and a few
others...right now I primarily wear Avon but love the idea of the face
kits and better quality of products.
SO...my question is...what is your favorite line of makeup and why?
Also what is the price for a few basic supplies like a foundation and
an eyeliner?

I just recently purchased a few SmashBox e/s, and I'm in LOVE. I got a
very shimmery palette from Sephora which is simply gorgeous (Eyelights
in "Flash," which consists of "peachy pink, shimmering burgandy, mossy
green) - I want to get "Strobe" soon, which looks equally stunning, and
I got an Eyeshadow Trio, that I also love (Smashbox.com is the name of
the trio, which consists of "shimmering neutral beige, soft champagne,
rich chocolate). The palette was $32, the trio was $28. I'd highly
recommend their e/s - it's very silky going on, the colors look
fabulous whether they are matte or shimmer, and they look as good at
the end of the day as the start. I will be purchasing more from them,
no doubt.

I think MAC overall for concealer, foundation, and just a wide range of
colors for eyeshadows. I love the powerpoint pencils...they just don't
budge.

My loves change all the time but right now I'm completely obsessed with
the old Poole kits. Of course they are completely discontinued but
still I search for people who are willing to give up their palettes. I
just really like the idea of an "image" or story behind creating a look
and their makeup is really flattering on me (though the glosses don't
last for very long, it's true and they are not portable kits by any
means).

In the real world I really like Tarte costmetics, as they hit a nice
balance between limited edition seasonal items and really solid basics.
There are many other solid lines out there but Tarte would be my
favorite.

If you start using other brands, are you going to change your email address
from avongirl to something else?

I'm not brand-faithful at all. Avon and Mary Kay have websites where you
can check prices. Tons of other brands are carried/listed by Sephora.com.

Good points, cofarb. I use Georgio Armani, don't know the prices and
don't care to look them up.
Just call me
Armanigirl

Wow, absolutely impossible. Thought a terribly loyal friend, I don't
have a drop of brand loyalty in my blood when it comes to makeup. I
have a few favorites in some lines (like Mercier for foundation and
powder) but otherwise, I'm all over the map - high end, low end,
anything in between.

And prices vary according to lines. Wet n Wild will set you back a buck
a throw, but I've also spent a lot on something in a line like Nars or
Longo.
