Wax out of suede? / Thanks, AF

Userb3...
Last year, I gave DW a beautiful pink suede laptop/tote bag (thanks, AF for
pointing me to ebags), and she's enjoyed carrying it. Last week, however,
she bumped a candle on one of those candle warmers, and got wax splatters
on one side.

We're thinking of putting the bag in the freezer to get the wax off, but
she's worried there will still be residue.

Suggestions, anyone?

Have you tried covering it with a paper bag/absorbent paper towel and
ironing it on a low heat?

I have the same problem with a jacket.
I had my hair styled in a sort of spiky style and the stylist went nuts
with the wax. That day I was wearing my favorite suede jacket which
when I got home had a dark (wax) stain all over the neck.

A week later I took it to a leather cleanning specialist and they said
that there was no solution as the wax had sunk into the suede and was
now imbeded into the fabric--apparently this is mostly the case when
suede meets wax. (I hope this is not the case with your bag)

I'm hoping there is some sort of "magic" cleaning process/solution to
this mess--in spite of what the leather people said.

On another note, someone recently posted about deals on coats at Sierra
Trading Post. I'd never checked out their website or catalog, but when we
go skiing next week, DW will be sporting a brand new ski jacket she got
from them at about half teh price we would have expected to pay elsewhere..
Thanks again, AF

No, but that might be worth a try.

It works a treat on other fabrics and carpet.

There is a product on the market that specifically gets out the waxy
residue from candles. I have some at home and used it on a tablecloth
that had that ugly greasy spot on it from a tipped candle. I don't
know how it would work on suede and I'm at work at the moment but will
look at the bottle when I get home around 12:30. I bought the bottle
at JoAnn's and I'm sure Michael's or HobbyLobby sells it, too.
