I've just come across this website that mentions light skin sort of
makes laser hair removal easier to do. Now I've doubts about that.
What does it mean when it says 'Fewer treatments are required, and
better, faster results are obtained.'
Laser hair removal should be independent of skin color isn't it?

Laser hair reduction works by 'cooking' the hair follicle - The energy
from the laser light is absorbed by the darker hair shaft and follicle
and is converted to heat - same general principle as electrolysis, but
done over a larger area than a single hair at a time.
The key element is that the part you want to heat (the hair and
follicle) can be differentiated from the surrounding area that you don't
want to 'cook' - i.e. the skin.
So best results for laser hair reduction are dark hair and light skin -
Try an experiment yourself - put a dark towel on top of a larger white
towel out in direct sunlight. After a minute or two, feel the difference
in temperature between the light and dark coloured surfaces. Think of
the white towel as the skin and the dark towel as the hair/follicle.
That's how laser hair reduction works.

No. Laser works by flcusing the energy on dark colored hair follicles. The
lighter your skin, the less of teh laser's energy that is absorbed by the
skin, and teh more the laser's energy can fry the hair follicle.
Ideal laser candidate = Snow White (i.e. pale white skin, dark black hair)
Worst laser canidate = Grace Jones (yes, I'm joking, but dark skin and
light hair renders laser ineffective)
