Smokey...
I'm surprised to read the posts about mineral makeup leaving a shine. I've
used BE and JI and, if anything, have a problem with it looking too powdery
and dry. My skin is not oily, but I wouldn't have thought it was dry enough
to make this much of a difference. Does anyone else have this issue with a

Smokey,

I have both problems with it. The formulation itself has something shiny in
it (mica?) that manifests itself after I spread it on. It reflects light on
me. I also experience the "dry skin" look with it. I have normal skin and
moisturize well before applying but I still find that it accentuates my
wrinkles and leaves my skin looking dryer than I would like.

Mica is a group of minerals that form in thin, flat layers, like
little flakes, so they have a reflective surface. BE has teensy little
bits of it, crushed to within an inch of its life, but that's what
makes it look shiny or glowy.

try colorescience or La Bella Donna or Youngblood (which has a lot of new
stuff in their line)
all of these will do what you want but not leave you looking dry

I have been afraid to try BE because of some of the posts about
excessive shine. I'd like to try a mineral foundation but, as I've
posted before, I thought that even CG TruBlend Powder foundation
looked really dry on my skin.

Is it worth trying a sample when I go to Sephora in a week or so, I
wonder?
