Cleaning "house" (lol)

I broke my Walmart bag (severely weird imitation of white LV...definitely a
weird bag) that had my "other makeup" in it ("other" as in, stuff I never
use much and don't keep in my Caboodle as stuff I use everyday but I cannot
part with it either as I am a horrible packrat!!). The zipper busted on the
bag and I never really did have very good luck with zippers and cosmetics
bags and idk why but I must over-stuff them, I reckon. Anyways, that forced
me to go through all of my "other makeup" and I "cleaned house"! I threw
out every foundation and powder (I used pressed) that was half empty or less
or just looked kind of icky. That made for some serious room in the
"grocery bag" that I now use for my "other makeup." I then used sandwich
sized ziplock baggies to divide further into catagories such as "blush" and
"eye stuff" and I filled one zippy with blush stuff and another with eye
stuff. Then I stuffed all of my lip stuff (glosses, lipsticks, anything
that you can put on lips) into a little white plastic "dresser" with drawers
that holds small items. I have one of those now filled with lipcolors and I
plan to clean house on that thing as well sometime in the near future!! But
it felt good to know that I had used up soooo much stuff that I only had to
throw out the nasty foundations and powders and I only had one sandwich bag
for eyes and one for cheeks. I felt like I had kind of "accomplished"
something by using up stuff and that made me feel good!! I also have quite
a few "palettes" however, coz I have 3 Sonia Kashuk ones, all of the ones
NYC ever put out, and a few others, but I think I am doing well when it
comes to using stuff up, which makes me proud of myself!! The next "house
cleaning of makeup" will involve throwing out all of the eyeliners,
mascaras, lipsticks that smell foul/rank, and lipsticks that are old or the
colors are unsuitable or I'll never ever wear it again. That is for another
day. Just thought I would share the feeling of "accomplishment" I have lol
:-)

Good job! I am kind of like you in that I hate to get rid of makeup
even after I decide I don't really like it or it isn't working right
for me. Like, maybe I'm just being fickle and next week I will like it!
Maybe what it does is what I'll want in a month, and then it will
"work" for me. Almost never happens yet I have a giant case of "second
tier" stuff.
I should take inspiration from your post and clean house on my own
coffers. Maybe... :)
