Nanm...
I saw this dress at Neiman-Marcus in Boca Raton Town Center mall in
January,
I tried it on, but took the wrong size into the dressing room (along
with a few other pieces). The "sales" woman never once came to check
on me. I was with my mom and 2-year-old son, and were on our way to
the beach, so I didn't look like I was in the bucks.
So, I left and went to the Nicole Miller store to try it on, and maybe
buy it there. I decided against, it, and thought I would wait and see
if it would go on sale.
So, I went back to Nicole Miller at Town Center a couple weeks ago
when above-mentioned baby and I were again visiting for a thaw-out. It
wasn't on sale, but the manager offered me a 10% discount. She was
VERY nice, and I was very appreciative of the offer, but in the end
declined. I know better than this, usually, as it was now something I
really wanted.
So, after coming home last week, I started looking for it online.
Neither of the two boutiques here which carry NM had that dress. I
wasn't going to drive to Chicago for it.
I found it at Nordstrom online, but it said it was "unavailable"
whatever that means. So, I decided this afternoon, while baby was
napping, I would look it up again on the Nordstrom web site, and then
phone and ask.
Well, this time, it was AVAILABLE. There was only a size 12. I
thought the 8 fit OK, but was a little snug in the empire waist-band,
so I was going to buy the 10 and have it taken in. I think I will buy
the 12, and have it altered, and will maybe even get a better fit
altogether.
To make a long story short - it was 50% OFF!!!!
I bought it. And a pair of strappy bacl Vera Wang sandals from bluefly
to go with it.

ahmward...
Congrats on your fashion coup!

Jean...
cute dress, don't you just love when NOT buying something is "meant to be"?
