Did some shopping these last few days, after reconciling myself to the
fact that the 15 lbs I've gained since starting a med and quitting
smoking are here to stay for awhile (despite diet and copious exercise
these past three months.... sigh...). Most of my pants from last Fall &
Winter don't zip anymore. So I had a legit excuse to go shopping for
more!!!! I even have a doctor's excuse to go shopping !!! (too tight
clothing aggravates acid reflux).
So my recent haul:

- Dark charcoal pinstripe Tahari slacks - slim fitting, slash pockets
in the back, no pockets in the front. Will hem so I can wear them with
heels or with flats. (I am wearing heels less and less these days).
- White Ralph Lauren 5-pocket slim-fit jeans - with stretch, so very
very comfy... these are stark white, pristine white, white as can be
white, with white stitching. Love them! They'll do nicely to replace
the white cords I wore constantly last year, that currently don't fit
me.
- Dark brown Limited slim boot cut cords with flap pockets - also with
stretch. Last year I practically lived in a pair of Theory dark brown
cords, which I can no longer zip; these aren't quite the same, but
they'll do.

Herringbone gaucho pants:
- I swore I wasn't going to do the whole cropped pant thing this fall.
But I caved, because these are just sooo darn adorable!!!! I bought
them in the regular size instead of the petite, so they come down a
little longer than shown in the photo. But they flatter at this length,
and will look great with my burgandy boots, or with my brown Me Too
flats, or with my round-toe heels and dk brown tights. While I already
have several tops in my closet that coordinate, I just couldn't resist
this...
Long shawl collar cardigan in camel:
With this:
Medallion Chain belt:
I tried the other belts on, but the scale was all wrong on me. I needed
something a bit more delicate, yet chunky, and this fit the bill!
Also, not on their site yet, I picked up a gorgeous cowl-neck long-ish
sweater in dark green, which also goes with the herringbone pants, or
the brown cords.
And I loved the color of this, which will go great with the Tahari
pants:
Essential scoop-neck sweater in azure:
I think I'm done for fall now. This should get me through, until I lose
the weight.
