Strengthening fingernails - superglue and fiberglass?

Mike...
My job involves opening cardboard boxes and placing stock on shelves.
To prevent my fingernails from being shredded, I wrap the tips of the last three
fingers in sticking plaster - one layer over the nail and tip, another
overlapping layer around the tip.

I cannot use sticking plaster (or gloves) for my index finger and thumb because
of the reduced touch sensitivity which makes it harder to handle stock.

I have tried coating these fingernails with super glue with some limited
success. I recently tried "hard as nails" which made no difference at all.

Research indicates that fiberglass "fingernail wraps", or painted acrylic may
work. Can anyone comment as to the robustness of these things? Are they purely a
cosmetic enhancement, or do they really offer mechanical protection?

If not, would fiberglass tissue (as used in model aircraft building) and
superglue work?
As you can probably tell aesthetics is not my main concern, I'm only looking for
something that will stop the nails from being repeatedly torn back to the quick.

Sticking plaster is also known as "elastic adhesive bandage" and is typically
used to hold dressings onto wounds.

What are the ingredients in your new product?
Is it a suspension of fibres (glass, polyester?) in a cyanoacrylate or acrylic
adhesive?

Without some kind of fibre reinforcement I cannot imagine any adhesive or resin
system providing the required strength.

I'm in Australia.

How about gloves?

He can't wear them for his work, but why not just keep them short?
