This is a Brooks Brother pullover to wear with jeans, casual wear, etc. It
says dry clean only......possible to wash this in woolite? Thanks

I would follow the dry cleaning instructions rather than risking the
possibility of ruining the garment. Is it stained or does just need
cleaning?

I've had great success washing silk items in Woolite. Make sure you double
rinse to get all of the soap out and lay flat to dry. You may have to pull
the sweater back into shape. I also steam press mine after they're dry. DH
has some very nice ones from Norm Thompson that I've washed a few times
each. The only problem you may have eventually is pilling. But that comes
with wear too.

I always hand wash all sweaters regardless of fiber content. They
generally put the "dry clean only" label on them to protect themselves
from customers that don't know how to hand wash properly.

If it says "dry clean only" then... dry clean it only.
You might try the home dry clean products that work in your dryer -- but
IMHO they aren't worth the price.

I would, but I would also be prepared for the worst possible outcome:
ruining it.

Agreed. I've tried and never had a good outcome...looses it's softness
and shape.
