They say that the average pant size of women is a 16 in the US...just
curious as to what the average here is...(how nosey is that!)
I have good days where I'm a 6 and bad days where an 8 just isn't real

You must be looking in the wrong places or shopping at the wrong time.
If you shop now as I did yesterday, you would find collections in every
size. In two months people will have bought some of them so every size
won't be available.

Pants vary by manufacturer.
I currently have a pair of Levi's lowrise flare size 11L (junior) that fits
perfectly.
I have another brand in 8L that fits, although a little too snug in the hips
for my "older woman" preference. 10 is usually ok.
Dresses, about an 8 although some can go larger/smaller depending on the cut..
Tops vary, from junior L to misses S.
I'm about 5'9" slender but "pear-shaped".

Honestly, it can depend on who made the clothes, or the store where I
bought them.
I have dresses in my closet that are size 10. I have pants that are
size 16. I have blouses that are both M and XL. Skirts that are 12.
All of these clothes are in my active rotation.
It's maddening. One thing that I have done lately is realize that
"size" is only a number and it is between Me and My Maker! I buy
clothes that I like, fit well, and are affordable. Screw some
arbitrary number that has no uniformity anyway.
I had some surgery last week, and consequently I have lost some weight
in the process of being laid up, eating only soft foods and liquids,
and feeling sick. The upside? One of my favorite pairs of pants fit
better than ever! :-)
Who cares about size? Focus on feeling good, looking good, and being
healthy. Anyone who worries about YOUR size needs to find some worries
of their own.
