help w/ office secret santa present (must be $25 or under)

would a magazine subscription to something like, say... vogue be a good
choice for an office temp i know nothing about? i've been warned off
toiletries sets and food items.

How can you work with somebody and know nothing about them? What is on her
desk? Pictures? What about her computer desktop background? Music she
listens to? There are so many ways you can get clues about somebody just
by walking by their workspace :)

How old is she? Do you really think she'd rather have a magazine
subscription than, say.. a gift card to a local record store?

Good suggestion by Pysko! How would you know she would like a magazine
subscription to Vogue if you know nothing about her?? A gift card to a
record store like was mentioned or perhaps Target or some store you've
heard her talk about. Surely someone know something about this temp.
you could ask them what she likes. A gift card for a manicure/pedicure
is another suggestion.

If you want to be absolutely safe, go with a gift card to
Target/Amazon/[local mega bookstore]. If you walk by the temp's desk and
notice a cup of Starbucks, a Starbucks gift card would also be a good
choice.

While I would personally like a Vogue magazine subscription, it may not be
something the temp likes.
