i do *NOT* mean this quiz to have any religious overtones... i mean it as a
simple quiz for those who follow the Christian faith... i'm still reading
"the secret supper" and, since the focus is on the painting of the last
supper of christ and the apostles... i had these questions:
- can you name the 12 apostles without resort to research material?
- can you identify which of them were related to each other?
- how many of the apostles were named Judas? name them.
tip: Paul wasn't one of them... :)

Not such a simple quiz! I got as far as eight before looking them up.

I got seven but I knew I'd never get twelve cos I only know one Judas. Hey
maybe that's a trick question. ;-)

ain't no trick questions here... :) but seven is a good start...
and, don't forget thet question about relatives... :))

Guess my Sunday School days didn't really stick with me. :)

thanks, norma,
that's really my point... this is important information to the Christian
faith, yet is mostly unknown. and, what i didn't ask, was the life each of
them lived following Easter. was most unpleasant for most. i find it
fascinating to study these 12 lives. :)

We never learned them in Sunday School. I remember when I was in high
school, we tried to name them, and started with Matthew, Mark, Luke and
John. The teacher didn't correct us. I imagine few know all their names.

One of those lives didn't even make it to Easter, IIRC.

I know Simon Peter had a brother, and I think it was John. I believe there
was another pair of brothers, one of which was Andrew. Incidentally, I
believe that all four gospels do not agree on their names.

that's what so amazes me too, joy. there is so much spoken of "the
apostles', but their names, their relationships, and their adventures are
mostly unknown...
