Thinking about Thanksgiving coming in November(Canada October?), I
started rereading the history of the Plymouth Colony. It all started in
Scrooby, Nottinghamshire. Plymouth, Massachusetts could well have been named
Scrooby, Massachusetts.
All these leaders, Brewster, Alden, Standish came with Pilgrims on a 65
day boat trip from Plymouth, England. There is a Mayflower Exhibition in
Plymouth.

I visited the replica of the Mayflower at Plymouth many years ago. It blew
my mind to think of so many people cooped up in that relatively small space
for so long, especially when the weather was rough and people got seasick.
It must have been a miserable trip, with virtually no privacy or comforts of
any kind.

I'm sure it would be quite an experience at Sturbridge. That village
impressed me no end. So did the acting ability of the docents.

I'd better look right now.

I used to think I'd like to be a re-enactor....

Oh yes! Thanks for reminding me that I want to look into
trying Thanksgiving at a colonial village. I suppose Plymouth
would be too populated for Leah, but maybe Sturbridge gets in
on the act.
