Someone asked me if I could help, doing this project:
He had 800 digital pictures stored under one folder. JPEG format. He
wants all pictures to be printed on single A4 sheets, 16 pics on each
sheet. He also wants each picture's filename printed under each picture.
Like XXX001.JPG
Any brilliant ideas around?

I have a feeling that this won't be of help, but it might. In Photoshop,
there is a tool called 'Contact Sheet' which does exactly what you ask
If there is something similar in Paintshop Pro, then you're on a winner

From a tutorial on PPP.
"Printing Thumbnails from Browser
When you choose File>Print from the Browser menu, you will print all the
thumbnail images with their image name under each thumbnail and the folder
path as the title. This is a very handy way of creating a catalog of your
images."

but if all else fails, seek out someone who has Photoshop.

Is this FREE program any use for what you want?

I have used IrfanView to make Thumbnails. You can set the size,
number of Thumbnails across and down, space between them, etc.
then same them in a folder and you can print it or email it or
both. Pretty simple. IrfanView is free.

One question: What is an "A4" sheet? 8 X 10 inches or what?
Michael Fanner...

It's actually 8.26 X 11.69 inches Arch.

An A4 size sheet is 210 x 290 mm.
In fact 210 + something more
and 290 + a bit more

Knut, here is a example of a page I did in IrfanView of a birthday party
for my step-granddaughter. I think this may be exactly what he is
looking for. Once I make it in IrfanView (which is fairly simple and
free) I just copied it to file in "My Photos". I then sent the whole
thing to my granddaughter and asked her if there were any specific ones
she would like me to print. Let me know if you would like to take a look
at it. I will email it to you, it is not a long file.
