Changing Lanes
Have just returned from our trip to Florida, I'd like to share a few
thoughts about the 1400 mile roundtrip.
1200 miles of our journey is on Interstate 75. When you lock-in the cruise
control at 71 with the radio off and the conversation stopped, your mind
like ol Bob Seger says, "begins to wander."
Traveling south from Valdosta, Ga after 40 miles you cross the Florida
state line. Florida has spared no expense on their new Welcome Center. A
plethora of palm trees surrounding this rest area causes you to feel like
you've arrived in paradise. Inside you receive free orange juice,
information on DisneyWorld, and maps guiding you to all the Sunshine State's
attractions.
Back in your car and traveling south a few miles, you think, "What a
beautiful welcome center! What a wonderful state to visit! What a superplace
for my family to vacation!" Then on the side of the highway it looms in
front of you. In large bold block letters the bill board announces, "WE BARE
ALL!" Adult toys and novelties. TRUCKERS WELCOME!
Now, I ask you, in some cases doesn't the first amend...never mind.

having made a few trips down south it is strange that we see lots of
billboards advertising adult bookstores and toys etc. and then a lot
of religious billboards.
You won't find either in my area. How about other areas of the
country, midwest, west? Is it common to see xxx stuff advertised next
to religious billboards?

yeah! i'm interested... what did you guys buy there? :)
dalin and I have noticed - with no intent to offend anyone -- that we tend
to see more of such stores the more south we go... I have a good idea on
why this happens, but I'll keep it to myself....
