Paco...
My laptop is under warranty and is right now being repaired. It should
be ready by next week. I got a glimpse of a new laptop today. It was my
mom's nurse's laptop. Made me want a new one. My question is, what
happens if they CAN'T repair mine? Will Toshiba give me a new one?

High Miles...
You'll get one back. Might even be yours.
My son is in the biz, and laptops are no harder to fix than PCs once you
get their guts figured out.

Shouldn't take a week tho.

david...
this happened to dalin and they gave her a new toshiba... probably
depends on where you bought it and the service agreement.

Mrs G...
I had a hewlett packard laptop an we could not get it connected to
router for the internet so it went back to the shop they sent it for
repair it came back with the same problem again i took it back to the
shop they sent it back to the hewlett packard when i went in to the
shop to check if it had come back for the second time we got told they
was waiting for a part for the laptop they didnt know when they would
have the part so the people at comet were i got the laptop from
refunded the money for the hewlett packard which was still under
warranty and i got a brandnew laptop Acer Travelmate 2700 an i havent
had anybother since

I wouldn'a count on that, Paco. Most likely, they will just replace
the affected part.

I bought a Toshiba laptop some years ago, and when I had problems with
it, all they did was repair, not replace the computer itself.
However, the repairs worked, and I am still using that laptop today,
although I am buying a new one in the very near future- going for a
Dell.

I kinda thought it comical, because, since I am so fond of gardening,
and computing, I'll most likely become known as 'the farmer in the
Dell'!!!!

But, getting back 2 your problem, I don't know what they'll do in your
case - in mine, it was simply send to the shop, repair, and send back
for me to pick up.

Good luck. I hope it all gets straightened out 4U.

Crusher...
There was a story in the news recently about Toshiba service. FedEx
actually provides their maintenance at a US facility. Depending on the
severity of your problem they may either fix it or send you a rebuilt unit.
No explanation was given about your files if they elect to send you a
rebuilt unit.
