What a beautiful evening. The storm is over, rain is still gently
dripping down from the leaves on the trees, the air smells fresh, it
is still dark out and there is a gentle breeze coming in all the
windows along with a fine mist. Way in the distance I can hear the
sounds of drums as the local high school has their band camp for the
marching band. The earth seems so alive with worms crawling out of
the dirt onto the driveway, two little rabbits playing hopscotch
through the wet grass, moths hitting the back screen. It may rain
again later and how I love falling asleep listening to it.
Shadow will sit at the foot of our bed tonight and instead of falling
asleep at lights out will look out the open window which is about
three feet away and sniff the air and give gentle little wuffs at the
sound of a car going by or another dog barking in the neighborhood.
She loves nights like this too and will stand sentinel for a couple of
hours enjoying smells and sounds. Sooo nice to fall asleep to those
gentle little wuffs.
One of those God's in His Heaven, alls right with the world kind of
nights. :-)

What a beautiful description of an evening. Still hot as you know what in my
area so it really sounds delightful to me. Not to mention how I can almost
hear those dear little wuffs.
