Wow! More of storm than I like. Sure glad to hear you didn't have a lot of
damage. What did little Shadow think of it??

The neighborhood looks like a tornado hit it. Trees down all over the
place. We had a wind and rain storm come through with winds of 80
mph. The strange thing is the wind cut a path through the
neighborhood and the houses just to our north and south seem to have
had no damage at all. I wonder if that is what they call a straight
line wind? We have a few big tree branches down and little ones all
over the lawn but no major damage. Electricity was out for four
hours.
All over the neighborhood today you can hear chain saws going as
people cut the branches into a manageable size so the town chipper can
come around and pick them up. David was trying to cut our big branch
with a hand saw but our neighbor came over with his chain saw and did
it.
July has been the wettest month here since 1855 when they started
keeping records. The weather is really getting weird!

Oh, wow! Did you know you were getting SUCH bad weather? It
sounds almost like a hurricane. I'm glad your property was
not as hard hit as some others were!

I ate supper at my son's house yesterday. He has a new little screen
house just big enough for a table and six chairs. We finished eating
and went in the house and about a half hour later a thunder storm moved
in. There was a little wind, some heavy rain but no damage and in 20
minutes the sky was clear again.

I'm glad you didn't have any major damage, and that your power was off for
only 4 hours. That's long enough when it's hot.
I had a lovely day yesterday. My daughter and her husband invited my son
and me to their house for a barbecue. It's cooler where they live, but it's
still been plenty warm there. However, our heat wave has finally broken,
and the temperature there was perfect for a barbecue. In the evening we
went inside and played a game. We were sitting in the living room with the
sliding glass door open, and there was a breeze coming in. It actually got
cool enough that both my daughter and I put on sweaters. It was lovely!
