as a story of a man and his encounters with a number of wonderful people
who cared. i think the device could have been almost anything where a

Yes, it was delightful. And, on the reverse side of the coin, I also
enjoyed The Full Monty.

person devotes time and love.
however, the sweetheart machines of the movie (to me) were all those early
triumphs in the movie. what a treat to see them all on the road... not a
common sight in the U.S., for sure... :) and the movie brought back many
memories of my teenage years, reading about the bonneville salt flats. lots
of activity there, especially in 50's and 60's... i can recall buying
magazines with black/white photos of cars and motorcycles all encrusted in
white salt, with salt all over the riders/drivers and everything in sight.
mickey thompson's machine was shown briefly in the movie and i remember it
well...was powered by four (4) Pontiac v8 engines and set a record of over
400 mph back then. nice memories... and a great and gentle movie.. :)
