Makes it tough for folks who like wings and legs. LOL
Lots of times when we were camping at Thanksgiving time, and smoking a
turkey, we would have the butcher cut the turkey in half. It fit nicely
into the smoker.

yabut no one in our family likes the wings or legs. In fact Bob is a
vegetarian. He eats everything else but the turkey. I don't even put
giblets in the dressing or gravy when I know he is coming. :-(

This year we are going to our son's and dil's house. Her mother and
dil's brother will be there too. First time for Thanksgiving! And
yet I still bought a bone-in turkey breast and I'm going to make
Thanksgiving dinner here tomorrow for David and me. We like those
leftovers and my dil is likely to make lasagna. I can't believe I'm
doing this when I didn't have to cook. LOL!

I have always done that, Dalin. If we went to my folks or Stan's folks for
Thanksgiving, I always cooked a turkey for us at home. So, we had our own
"left overs". (The best part of Thanksgiving, IMHO)

No, I remembered wrong. It was Christmas. It was left over from
Christmas Eve, that's her father's birthday and her mother made the
lasagna. She'll probably have ham, it's easier with a little three
year old running around. :-)

I'm doing the whole thing. :-) Smell my celery and onion cooking in
butter for the dressing? And I'm using Bell's dressing in the box, no
better dressing in the world!
We looooove turkey sandwiches, I think the leftovers are the best part
too. Are you going to fix a turkey this year?
Sue...

Nope! I ordered a 12 lber already cooked. All I do is heat it up.
I am really lazy this year.

Hey, whatever works! I know lots of people do that, the whole dinner,
dressing, pie, veggies etc.

Sounds normal to me. Even though the girls aren't particularly interested in
turkey we got a turkey breast as well. I am also trying a recipe for a rump
roast in the pot crock I got off the Internet. I thought it sounded
interesting because you cover it with jellied cranberry sauce. Figured that
was Thanksgivingish sort of. :-)
So kick back and enjoy the day and then you can enjoy 'your' small
Thanksgiving and all the yummy leftovers.
