Linda1...
Jim, haven't been around much lately due to life getting in the way of
computer time. Hope things are going better for you and that you are
able to take some time to celebrate your birthday today. Have a very
Happy Birthday, my friend.
Linda1

Joy...
Thanks for the reminder, Linda.

Happy Birthday, Jim! I hope it is as good a day as possible, with little or
no discomfort, and maybe a little fun thrown in.

Jim Everman...
Thanks Joy. I drove down to a quaint little town south of here
(Kimmeswick) and had lunch at a place called the "Blue Owl". The whole
town is very artsy/crafty, mostly a ladies town. The Red Hat Ladies have
a meeting room there.

Anyway, I let the waitress know it was my birthday and got a cherry
cheesecake tart with a candle for my effort.. I also got a roomful of
ladies singing "Happy Birthday" to me. It was ok. ;-)

david...
yikes! this one slipped by me. hope you're doing well, jim. your posts are
missed... as well as stories of your geocaching... :)

Jim Everman...

Jean B....
Not bad for a noncelebration! I'm glad you mentioned it!

david...
i admire your initiative, jim. i probably would have stayed home, had a
frozen pizza and a beer... doesn't come close to having a roomful of
ladies singing to you... :)
Like is said, "out of sight, out of mind." ;-)

Not much geocaching recently, this chemo junk saps the energy.

**Dalin**...
Let me add my wishes for a happy day, one in which you feel well and
perhaps can do a geocache. :-)

Jim Everman...

Jean B....
Not surprising, but too bad nonetheless. Maybe you need a
hobby that doesn't require so much energy? Hmmm, I don't
suppose they need any cyber help at geocaching.com?

Jim Everman...
How about jig sawn puzzles? I'm going to try a 500 piece puzzle of
"Ludwig's Castle". Except for the edges, all pieces are the same basic
shape. Almost like the little salamanders from an Escher drawing. The
trouble is keeping it set up to work on, and I'm not sure I won't get
bored with it.

david...
sounds hard to me. dalin recently received a puzzle as a gift... it's a
sphere, once completed. i'm sure it can be done.... but not by me... :)
every now and then i need some right-brain activity and right now i'm
trying to build a balsa airplane model.. i've been at it for a month,
doing just a little each day... i haven't done one of these in almost 40
years and i'm enjoying it.... (if you overlook occasional curses when i
break a piece or get glue where it shouldn't be....)

if/when you do finish that puzzle, i hope you'll consider posting a photo.
i'd love to see it...

There was a class Saturday on the use of GPS receivers. It wasn't
geocaching, but our local group put it on so I could have gone and at
least seen some of the guys. I knew if I showed up I'd have to help and
I just felt like being lazy so I stayed home.
Thanks, Dalin!
Jim

mmj29...
Jim, they have puzzle caddies where you do the puzzle on the caddy then even
though it's not complete you close them up and store under the bed, couch or
wherever. I love jigsaw puzzles so have used one for years.

Stinkweed...
I have a jig saw puzzle program on my computer. You never loose the pieces
this way.

Jean B....
Welp, I'm glad there ARE goecaching events that don't take too
much physical energy--if you choose to avail yourself of them.

Re the puzzle, can you get a big board to put it on?
(preferable one with a small rim?) Then you can at least
transfer it from the table when you need to use it for some
other purpose.

I find there is a fine line between ungratifyingly challenging
and ungratifyingly simple.....

NHunkele...
Happy Birthday, Jim. When you blow out the candles, I hope all your
wishes are granted.

Jim Everman...
Thanks Norma.. not so sure there will be candles, perhaps.

Jim Everman...
I haven't posted much so you haven't missed much. Thanks for the
birthday wish!
