Look what the cat dragged in

And boy am I dragging. Two men to take care of all week, one very
hyper, and two dogs and I am exhausted. And tonight we must take
Shadow to her first night of school. She is dragging too. David took
her out for a walk today and she just sat in the middle of the street.

I think she misses her playmate. :-(

Don and David rented a chain saw and cut down the big maple in our
front yard. Wet leaves and wood chips all in my carpet, but I can't
complain as the tree is gone. :-) The tree took three or four hours.
Installing the baby gate on the back deck took a day and a half.
Seems they couldn't agree on how it should be done. David would
take me aside and tell me how Don was doing it wrong and Don would
take me aside and say David's ideas were wrong. I felt like shooting
them both. I don't know how they solved it, by then I was into the
wine. Got about five hours sleep each night, interrupted by
taking Shadow to the bathroom about 3 a.m. as she can't jump off the
bed.

But it's so good to see a friend! :-)

Glad to see you back with us. We missed you. Sounds like everyone is worn
out though. So put your feet up and just relax for a bit.

Welcome back, Dalin! Oh! You are snoozing. My welcome will

Doing OK thank you. I picked up one at Trader Joe's so I can add one here
and there to keep her supplied. She is so funny with them. One I cut so it
opens flat and that one is her slip and slide. She also likes to stretch out
on it to sleep.

Wish I could! Shadow goes to school tonight, we leave in 10 minutes.
She is so tired, not sure how she will do. I'm her handler, not sure
how I will do! Wish us luck. :-)

What are your goals?

To teach her to obey. ESPECIALLY to come to me when I say so. I'm
forever chasing her all over the house when I want to put on her leash
or brush her. She thinks it's a game. She enjoys being chased and I
don't mind when we're playing, but she also needs to know when I am
not playing and want her to come to me.

Good luck, Dalin! Are all dogs trainable?

I don't know, but my Yorkie book says some Yorkies never are potty
trained because they are a very stubborn dog. Speaking of that...
I was on the way out the door to a doctor appointment, made a quick
trip to the bathroom and stepped in a pile! Groan! She missed the
paper. :-( But at least she is potty trained.

Drop your voice an octave or two, and if she doesn't come, don't chase
her. Wait for her to come to you.

The dropped tenor says, I'm the big dog and I'm not playing.
