ok, we have strong winter winds here and yesterday a piece of vinyl siding
came loose. i managed to climb a ladder and reposition the siding back
where it goes and it's ok for now, but i don't know how to permanently
attach it to house. it's the top piece of vinyl, the one just under the
overlapping lip that runs across the top of the siding. if i drive a nail
into the top of the vinyl, that prevents the lip from being able to cover
the top (and that also helps prevent water seepage under the vinyl.) i
could drive a nail through everything but that looks tacky... so, how do i
affix the vinyl piece to house and still be able to position the lip in
place? i may not do it immediately, because windchill is near zero and
there is blowing snow... but if a semi-warm day arrives, i'd like to be
prepared... :) thanks for any tips.

I can see a couple of ways to do this with just the ole tricks my grandma
taught me..........
The first would be to make a paste out of flour and water, then carefully
take this bowl of glue up the ladder and using a paint brush, take the
concoction you made and brush the entire back side of the vinyl thickly with
this stuff. Then push back into place, push down and hold until it warms to
about 80 degrees.
The second trick would be to make a consistency of salt and water, then use
the same method and bake it at 250 degrees until hardened.......
Have you ever thought of just bricking the area? Good exercise on a nippy
day................

ya' know.... i was just in the garage doing a visual inspection... :)
tires are properly inflated and battery is charged. i'm ready... uh...
left foot is for gear shift, right? and the right foot is for, uh... i
forgot.... :)

uh, thanks... i needed that.. :) that explains those crashes i was having
last year... i just hope it never falls to the left 'cause i'll never git
my right foot over the top in time... :-))
i did see this nice kawasaki vulcan 750... 85 pounds lighter than bullet

Super glue comes to mind but if you want to remove it for any reason
that might not be so good. When the weather is warmer, would a line of
flexible caulking hold it in place?
