It's official !

Miss Alexis is now a cherished member of the our family.
Family , neighbors, and friends all met at the Courthouse downtown
Reno. Son and Daughter in law and Alexis sat with the attorney, facing
the judge.We all filled up the seats in the court room. Each parent was
asked to express their feelings re: the adoption and Alexis.. then she
was asked to express her feelings.. not a dry eye in the place.. then
each of us introduced ourselves and made comments. The
neighbors-friends, and family all were deeply touched by the
proceedings. The judge was even in tears !
We then went into another room, cookies were served, and the case
workers-counsellors
had a large bag of gifts for Alexis.Then a limo took them home and we
all followed..more presents, snax, then a delicious beautifully
decorated cake. She was careful to read each card and thank each
person for her gifts. We all consider ourselves very fortunate .She's
quite a little girl. A happy Grammie....Bette

What a lovely ceremony Bette. I had imagined one just signed the
adoption papers. How nice it was made into something so special for a
special little girl. :-)

Alexis? Or email me if you wish. I am very happy for her and your entire
family. There are so many out there who need loving parents.
