I bought two inexpensive chairs because I needed some
furniture. The arms are dark wood and the back and seat are
canvass. They only cost $50 each so you can't expect too
much. But they will do for seating company. They are kind of
low for older people to sit in and that thought came to me
after I assembled one.

I can't quite tell whether you are saying low is good or bad.
I should try to remember older folks (like myself as time
passes) when I buy more furniture. I find myself getting more
and more interested in older furniture/stuff--perhaps as a
reaction to all that plastic junk that's around now....

There is a couch at my fitness center that, once I sit down, Stan has to
help me up! It is low. And try, at our age, getting out of a butterfly
chair. Impossible.

I'm looking for a good, sturdy rocker so when people can truly say 'I'm
off my rocker' ;)

LOL! Hey, you don't even need to have one to be off it!

I'm getting one, which is an antique. It belonged to my grandmother, and my

mother had it for years. Now it's being shipped to me. I'll have to
remember to use that line once I get it.
Incidentally, I once made a speech about my mother, who was about 85 at the
time. She is definitely not your stereotypical blue-haired lady, rocking
and knitting. I began the speech, "My mother is off her rocker!" ;-)

What a great line!!!! I love it (in that context)!

Thanks, Jean. My audience liked it too.
