those are just beautiful... i think there was a zane grey novel - 'riders
of the purple sage'... I never ever knew what it meant.... until today...
:) thanks for sharing... i'd love to see a landscape covered with this...
i'm beginning to think there's too much beauty in your part of texas...

heh! sometime you just gotta be there at the right time because a lot of
such bloomings happen fast and disappear fast. Desert and near-desert
plants are like that.

Oh my, that is beautiful! I guess the drought didn't affect some of
the beauty in Texas. :-)

Dry country plants are smart. They bloom when it rains.. no matter how
long they have to wait. They get enough moisture, they bloom and seed in
a *big hurry*.
