Two lovely, nice plump robins, Mr. & Mrs. have been spending quite a
bit of time in my back yard.. I've put out some grapes every other day
or so...They came about an hour ago and were nibbling away, he suddenly
turned on her, pecked at her, etc. then away he flew leaving her
behind. It only took a second or two to realize she was hurt.. she hops
on one foot, I think is smart enough to know not to fly, would be a
problem landing.. so there she sits in my back yard..Mr. Robin
returned once, ignored her, she tried to hop toward him..she can manage
a hop or two then has to " sit" . he flew off again.. just a few
minutes later he another lady Robin flew in by her, he was nibbling
away on something while she tried to hop closer to him, suddenly he
took whatever he had in his mouth to her and fed her.. then flew off.
I thought that pretty sweet of him. I am afraid to open the door and
put some food and water out for her, she'd no doubt try to fly off, and
that could be a disaster.
Hope he returns to care for her. Birdland Bette

Well I hope he does! He's the one that hurt her. :-( It is
probably best to leave her alone. I know you want to help though.
Thanks for the kleenex warning.

I have noticed this same behavior with the Mourning Doves and Ducks that
feed at my place during certain times of the year.
