My Lucky Day

It was pretty ordinary until I went to get a wool blanket from the dry
cleaners. They forgot to take it off the truck. "Can you come back in
a half hour?"

So I went into a nearby beauty supply store. They were all out of
beauty but I bought a new hairbrush and an emery board. Then wandered
down the walk to the grocery store.

I picked out some good looking grapes and went to the express lane to
check out. Not very express - the two shoppers in front of me used
credit cards and the cashier was slower than the proverbial molasses.
I had time to read all the signs plastered around the register. One
said that if the clerk failed to mention today's special bargain it was
free. So when she started to check out the shopper behind me, I asked
for my free throw-away Fuji camera. :)

I took it with a big smile and a "Thank You" and went back to retrieve
my blanket. Driving out of the lot, the traffic light finally turned
green and as I crossed the intersection, a woman made a right hand turn
on red - right in front of me. I missed her!
So, all in all, it was a lucky day.
