Some of you may remember what my yard looked like when all the trees were
cut down in back of us. It was a disaster.
Now....on the Blog....
My old view in Florida...
And my new view in the Mountains of Georgia.

That is a fantastic view Sue! I love it. Is that all on your land?

Yes!!!! We are in synch here, Sue. That's the look I like
too. Well, "like" is an understatement. Trees make me feel
more peaceful. In fact, I feel sick when I see/hear trees
being cut down.... I was upset from afar about what happened
to your trees in FL.

When we visited the NW I gor really depressed seeing clear cut logging.

Oh! I would ABSOLUTELY hate that!
It may be appriopriate for me to add a little observation
here. I was just out collecting some nice rocks that had been
left on our grass as a by-product of a repavement project. I
noticed one of our oaks had a blotch of reddish-orange paint
on it, as in "cut me down". I was horrified. On further
inspection, it looks like there is some beetle damage....
That probably explains why so many of this town's really old
oaks have been cut down. Is this the scourge that was coming
from out west? I haven't got the heart to go look at the big
oak in the back yard.... :-(
While I personally am horrified and will be sickened by this
tree's removal, I can see that if there is some pestilence, it
has to be done if the spread can thus be arrested.
Nonetheless: :-(

Oh you must stop and walk on it a ways. We did and now I can say I
hiked the Appalachian Trail even if it was only a quarter mile!
Actually we ran across it by accident, we were on Skyline Drive in the
Smokies at a rest stop and there was a sign pointing to the trail so
we followed it for a little bit. :-)

LOL....I couldn't climb up to the trail anymore. But, somewhere there is a
picture of me,. next to the sign and reading "A Walk in the Woods".
