Diane...
Happy New Year everyone!
Have just quickly put up some pics on the Blog to bring you up to speed on
Di's Christmas....
the beach house my sister and I rented was so beautifully isolated that we
felt we just melded into the environment. KI wallabies came within meters
of our windows in the evening and a lizard unique to the island lived
nearby. The penguins kept us company each night with their raucous comings
and goings.....the noise was not intrusive, however.
There were meant to be pygmy copperheads in the old tank stand outside the
main bedroom, but we didn't see them, thank heavens~!
More anon
Di.....:)

Val Adams...
Hey, Lady, glad to see you back! I've been away too, sort of, but not to
nearly such a fun place, thanks for pix!

Di, I loved the pictures! Looks like a vacation in heaven. I didn't realize
the penguins would be up at night. Now I know why they wear tuxedos.

Diane...
ROTFLMHO!!But of course! LOL!
Yes, they spend all day at sea , where they have little nappy naps, would
you believe. They come ashore at dusk and into their burrows where they
spend the night doing housework and yelling at the kids....hundreds of 'em!
My sister bought a little penguin doll which squawked with a pretty real
penguin noise, just so she would be able to sleep when she got home. She
thought she'd miss the cacophony!
Di.....:)

Yoj...
Were the same kind of penguins that nest on Phillip Island, Di? I remember
the tour guide said they used to be called Fairy Penguins, but that became
politically incorrect so they're now called Little Penguins.

They were adorable! It seemed to me that they had about three or four
different kinds of squawks. I loved the way they'd walk for a little while,
then stop and talk things over. It must have been lovely to see them every
night.

Rhonda...
Where do you go to look at the pictures you put up?

Rhonda...
Thank you Bob
