I don't know exactly how we have landed but feet set in a perpendicular
fashion on the ground.
Making a move from Alabama to Florida, we have been up to our elbows in
goose grease and lightening. Sound like an adventure? well a tiring one
:-)

I'm sure glad neither of you were hurt Faith. That must have been a
giant deer to cause so much damage.

The biggest I have seen east of the Rockies. Usually you see alot of mule
deer here and they are small. This was a white tail and just a tad smaller
then an elk. Good steak I am sure but "no poachin allowed in Alabama" lol

With a large moving truck for all worldly possessions, and the little metro
in tow on that moving truck, we hit one of the largest deer I have seen in
the lower states. (It reminded me of the large white tails in Montana) For
one of those big u-haul type trucks to have the grill, air, headlights and
both front fenders destroyed takes a big chuck of hunk when traveling only
about 45 mph. It was a narrow lonely curved stretch and that boy jumped out
with no place for us to go, but head on to the defenseless object of the
forest.
Fortunately the person tailgaiting the geo in tow wasn't too affected and we
came through it all only shaken. One word of advice for anyone renting a
budget, u-haul or that type of thing.........check your telephone numbers
that they give you for emergencies. Ours didn't work after an 8 to 5 day
and nothing on weekends. Course we were counseled on tearing off the
hanging parts to get down the road to a hotel room. (You are suppose to
leave it in place of accident and wait for assistance - in our case that
would have been 58 hours later.)
We arrived in Panama City and found little for housing but finally lucked
out in a small inexpensive apartment in Callaway similar to the one in
Alaska that I lived in. We now have the option of settling down a little
before deciding if we want to find something pernament in the area.
Chad (my brother who has a crippling spinal injury) has been with me since
Thanksgiving and with both our humor combined has kept us sane in this
endeavor. He set out to obtain all the hookups for the utilities including
the ISP for surfing, and I now have a one of a kind e-mail address. bnand60
is what he decided fit me - of course at comcast.net. Don't ask what the
bnand60 means :-)
Hope all is well with everyone

We are pleased to see these beautiful animals but when they hurt your car
it isn't the seem thing. Happily your are safe.

I totally agree Huguette. I was glad that my brother was driving the truck
as I though about it later and as mother's and fixer's and the caregiver
instinct, we tend to go out of our way to please, to not hurt, to
accommodate.
I more than likely would have swerved to avoid hitting, or slammed on the
brakes with that person tail-gating so close which would have been total
devastation to everything involved.
Sitting here thinking of it, I remember how many years it took to overcome
the instinct to throw our arm out to catch the little one in the front seat
as we applied the brakes. Yes, I know most places require car seats and
restraints for children, but that wasn't so when we had our children. I
have instinctively tried to catch a passenger in my later years with that
arm rapidly moved over to embrace the person as I applied brakes.
We are sure brainwashed in many respects

Wow! Moving is hard enough without having deer take out the front end
of your transportation! Glad you arrived safely. Do you 'spose if I
put glue on your shoes you could stay in one place for a while? LOL
