Again..I succumbed to buying a pack of 4 of these baby birds...I suppose
they may be a little larger than some others as they usually packed 6 (or
so) to a tray....The weight of the 4 is supposed to be 500g, that's about 1
lb 1 1/2 ozs (USA)....I have heard it said they are very nice and have a lot
of eating on the breasts...They don't appear big breasted ..to me though
!....
Can anyone suggest some more simple ways to cook them ....that I can
'appreciate them ..They seem pretty boney to me !..
When I have bought them in the past..I did not get to cook them and put
them in the freezer, but I think they have been there a little too
long..These are still fresh

Carefully warp each one in a slice of bacon and gently smoke over a low
fire until done.

Thanks..JD...Sounds nice with the bacon..That would help to keep it
moist..But I don't have anything to 'Smoke' them though...:-(

In that case, use the roast them in the oven on a rack inside a pan. use
the drippings to make a nice gravy to spoon over teh mashed potatoes.

Barry, I went to Yahoo (I'm sure web-search would do as well) and typed in
"recipes quail". I got a list of several choices to click on for recipes.
You might try that.
