I hate it....

Each day I wake with one of dozens of different songs playing in the back of
my head.... Today is the Nutcracker.... do do do do do ta da.... The worst
part is I have to let it go away on its own.... If I try to stop it all that
happens is I get different part of the music....

That's an earworm. You have to counter it with a counterworm. I usually
use 'Carol of the Bells', or sometimes '10 Green Bottles' because I can
sing that.

The worst of them all is waking to the "Chicken Dance".... gawd I hate that
one.... I don't mind waking to Buddy Holly or even Bruce Springwhatever his
name is.... but the chicken dance?? Who in thier right mind would listen to
that.... and then wake up with it playing over and over in thier head??

Then again not knowing all the words to my waking music does make it a
little interesting.... I hear songs no one else does.... ;-)

your problem, mikal, is a lack of true appreciation for the boss. now,
once you grasp his name as "bruce springsteen", your life will improve.
children will bring you flowers, raynbeau will shower you with hugs and
kisses, the IRS will smile gently at your oversight in missed tax
payments, members of this NG will speak complimentarily on your artistic
talents, and angels will sing to you on every morning. yes, see what
you're missing?

once you start dreaming and awakening to the songs of the boss, your life
will improve dramatically. and you have me to thank for this advice...

Oh man that was it.... Bruce Springstein.... he was a friend of mine during
school years.... gawd I hated his singing even back then.... His mother used
to send him to my house to make sure I made it to school.... Thanks for
reminding me.... ;-)

LOL! What about if you think of a song before you go to sleep and
sing it in your head? Maybe you would wake up with that song? Waking
up to the "Chicken Dance" sure would get me out of bed fast though.

dressing with that music in my head makes me go back to sleep.... ;-)
