Paco...
Has anyone bought those flashlights that you shake to get power into
them? Are they any good? I saw a product review of them on the news and
they said it provides little light and the power for each shake doesn't
last long.

Last year. while in a Discovery store, I bought my son one of the
flashlights that you 'wind' up. Before I gave it to him we had a power
failure and I was able to comfortably read a book with it. I liked it
so well I bought myself one. :) You depress the switch once and light
two bulbs, depress it again and it lights three bulbs. Push again for
''off'.

Sue...
what do you mean "wind up"?

Ditto I've seen ones you squeeze repeatedly, but never a wind-up one.

I have one and I have used it for about two weeks at night when I get
up to use the bathroom so I won't trip over the dog. Since it
traveled in the glove compartment of the car for 800 miles and it said
the shaking of the car would charge it, I have not had to shake it
yet. But it's only on for about two minutes a night for those past
two weeks. It's very bright for a flashlight that is 7" long and
five" around at the widest point.

It might be that different companies make them so the quality could
differ. Mine was $20. I've seen them cheaper so there could be a
quality difference.
