Lever Bros, just about the biggest Corporate thing on this planet make many
products. For many years we had Jif, then they changed it to Cif so that we
came in line with the rest of the world. why not them us?
However, they have a multi surface cleaner which says, 'do not allow
prolonged contact with painted surfaces or marble'
that is specific enough, but I feel they should say, but not in small
print,' if you do THIS, then THIS will happen'
ITEM. I set about cleaning the doors [interior surface] in the kitchen.
outside. into the hall. under the stair. 3 doors!
no problem., except that I missed some of the cleaner on the doors, and IT
DRIED. So, as a result, I had three doors in the kitchen which were white
WITH A YELLOW TINGE'
this would not shift, and appeared to me that nothing less than a
flamethrower would suffice.

SO,and SO. the result was a complete repaint of those doors PLUS all the
skirting. BUT, because the condition of the door that opened onto the hall
effected the doors and woodwork IN the hall, all those had to be repainted
as well,
SO, can I claim from Lever Bros because they did not say specifically what
would happen if I missed some of the cleaner?

Ah, dear Bro, you have come into a situation which is classed in the trade
as "tough sh*t".

They DID warn you not to leave in prolongued contact with certain surfaces,
and now you know why they said that.

Their warning covers it. They told you not to, you did, and as Arch says
"now you know just why they said it."

They have no need to say "if you do, such and such will happen" for indeed,
they told you not to do it in the first place.

Sorry mate, but I speak from experience - been there, done that and paid
the price!
